AUX ENGINE & GENERATOR CYLINDER BLOCK & BEDPLATE

The Auxilliary & Generator ENGINE body comprises of two parts – i.e. the bedplate, A-frame (or commonly called the cylinder Block),. These are connected together by bolts. The Cylinder Block houses the Liners for the Engine whereas the Bedplate houses the Crankshaft and sits below the Cylinder Block. Since the Block and Bedplate houses the whole Engine parts, the Ends of the Bedplate and Block feel the stress of the Engines working and hence can develop thermal cracks. Thus when these Cylinder Blocks or Bedplates are procured from the Ship Recycling Yard, the Working areas of the same are thoroughly checked by MPI, NDT & if found ok, are further serviced and supplied to our clients.
